As a child Angeli Mulders (1969) loved to draw. Putting a pencil on a piece of paper and wondering what happened, what was coming up. At the age of 9 her aunt taught her about painting. She was astounished by the experience of creating something that wasn’t there before.
Years went by. In the hardworking family she grew up, there was no time to paint, but she always remembered the wonderful experience. Around the age of 30 she took up painting again. With the goal not to have a goal. As an ambitious sales consultant with a lot of felt responsibilty, painting was her way to let go and stay balanced at that time. She promised herself never ever to paint with a goal. No expositions, no sales. In 2015 she released this promise. The reason: ‘Some of my paintings colour the walls in my house and some houses and offices of friends. Guests come in and watch the paintings. Beautiful and even vulnerable stories come up. Stories that bring people closer together and explain things we never dare to speak about'. After hearing these stories, I decided it was time to open up, to share my ‘visons’ and stories and inspire others to speak out.’
The big step goes along with her thrive and experience on peoples behaviour. As a marketing specialist and sociologist she’s always driven by the understanding of human behaviour. How and why do people act in the way they act? What is the real basis of behaviour. The deepest basis of behaviour. And how are we able to create a positive change. A lasting change. She digs into brain science, leadership, mindfulness, meditation, sjamanism, buddhisme and so on. She’s a kind of person that never believes things until she really experienced them. In her body, in her mind, in her life and during her many travels around the world. ‘Painting helps me to go through things, to understand what’s going on. Within myself, within other people, within the dimension(s) we live in. It really doesn’t matter to me whether a painting generates a positive or negative response. If a painting resonates, there’s a story behind it that needs to come out. A story that helps to understand, to experience and to influence change. Positive change'.
