I started this painting during election time in the U.S, summer of 2016. Promising myself only to use blue and pink colours, male and female colours. Blue separated elements to refer to the male ego, pink colours fluently integrating referring to the female search for connection. All inspired by the fear I felt about the elections in the U.S. between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. My mind hoped the female side would win. My unconsciousness told me something else. The female part made me think of the pig in the book Animal Farm (George Orwell). If people saw the female as this pig, the female side was as much a male as the blue ego elements. Or maybe I didn’t paint the female side, but the male candidate. In pink. If my unconsciousness was right, the male candidate would win and separation and disconnection would expand. At that time the polls were still running with a chance of 85% for Hillary Clinton to win. I knew better. I decided to continue painting and to see what was going to happen further in the future. Colour and connection, this time for real, my mind decided. Yellow it would be. I created a transparent yellow, sunny overlay. The result: a filthy painting… and no way back. Time to get rid of the thinking part and really let the unconscious mind take over. As 'art sees things before scientist get to it' (Giulio Tononi), why not go for it. See for yourself. The fear is gone. There’s hope, there a new future. Probably things can only really change if different dimensions are on the same line. Only then they will meet and create a revolution in the evolution. Necessary for real change.
Turn the painting if you like and choose what fits with you at this moment.
